Sarah

Sarah was born around 1737 and died around 1818. Her life was intermingled with that of her husband Charles Stapleton and their children. They started our lives together in Frederick County Virginia, an area that became Montgomery County, Virginia. He died in 1799 and she continued to live on their land until her death. She wrote a will 14 February 1810 that was proven in the Montgomery County, Virginia court 6 July 1819. (1,2) Her will included the names of her children, William, George, Sarah, wife of David Willis, Hannah, wife of John Barnett, and Elizabeth wife of Jacob Horbarger and that she was the widow of Charles Stapleton.
