I received a patent that was not surveyed and the land issued until after my death.  I did settle on the land around 1775 and made improvements on it.  The creek that I settled at the mouth of was named after me, Swords Creek.  The patent was sold by my son Michael as my heir at law in 1781 and the buyer had the property surveyed by the Washington County Surveyor. .
