Isaac Erwin
Home Satterfield Ancestors

I was born 17 January 1800 in Guilford County, North Carolina to Joseph and Lavina Erwin.  I was their last child.  They left me behind with my older siblings when they left Tennessee for Louisiana. So for the most part I was raised by my siblings.  I married first to Mary W. Nichols 09 August 1821 in Davidson County, Tennessee. We had four children John Nichols, Jane Nichols, Joseph Henry, William Blount. Mary died in 1832 and I married a second time to Carmelite Picou. Carmelite and I had ten children. Lafayette, Fletcher, Ludivine, Mary, Isaac, Charles, Frederick, Franklin, Thomas, and Lavinia.

My home in Louisiana was one of the plantations written about in W. E. Clement's book called "Plantation Life on the Mississippi".  I died there in 1872.
