I was born 1824 in Louisiana to James and Elizabeth Norwood. My dad died when I was 9. My mom had help with raising my siblings and I by my father's sister Catherine and her husband Elias Norwood. I married first William Boone 10 June 1841 in East Feliciana Parish, Louisiana. We had a son William. My husband William died prior to 1850 and I moved, with my son to my Aunt Catherine's household. I then married James Lawrence Satterfield 16 January 1853 in E. Feliciana Parish, Louisiana. In May of 1853 James and I went to court and requested a family meeting to discuss the support of my son William Boone. This is a practice in this part of the United States. Family members come together to make decisions on how to pay for the rearing of orphaned children, or children that have the father die. This family meeting (1,2) was made up of myself, my new husband James, two of my Norwood cousins, Edward Story, Samuel Dunbar, my sisters husband, and William Hamilton. I had two children with James; Clara and Isaiah Norwood. Clara and I both died before 1870
