Maria Ward Camp

Maria Ward Camp was the second child of John Hamlin Camp and Dorothy Jones to survive to adulthood.  She married Albert Yerger around the time her father died.  She was very young.  They had one son together, that they named John Camp, in 1831. Her husband had her take her mother to court to receive her portion of her fathers estate so the family could leave Tennessee and move to Louisiana in 1833. (1,2).  They moved to Caddo Parish, Louisiana where Maria died in 1848. Her young son was shipped off to live with his aunt in Madison County, Alabama where he married and had children.  He moved with is family to Bastrop Co, Tecas, where his uncle James had lived for a while.
