Thela Lorraine Bramlett

Thela was born 11 February 1889 in Rome, Georgia at a time before records of birth were not kept. She was the first child born to John Wesley and Janie Spence Bramlett. Her sister Lois helped her get a delayed birth record in 1955 so she could get social security benefits.

The family moved around a lot as she grew up and finally, for a while stayed in Hunt County, Texas, where she met and married James Monroe Stapleton on the 26th of August in 1909.

James and Thela had 3 daughters and a son and lived out our lives in Greenville, Texas. She visited her parent in Oklahoma and stayed close to her sisters and their families. She kept pictures, letters, and other items about her family family that have been passed down to her grand children for them to have a glimpse of her life.

She left this earth on 15 August 1974 in Greenville and the family placed her body in Forest Hills Cemetery..
