I was the third child born to James and Margaret Bradley in the United States. My birth was recorded in Holy Trinity Catholic Church Registers in Weston, Jackson County, Missouri when my parents had me baptized on 16 July 1870. I moved with my parents to Dallas, Texas when I was a child. I married twice. The first time I was married to Sherwood Adams on 2 November 1891 in Dallas, TX.
This is a picture of Sherwood and me. It was taken in Palestine, Texas. Sherwood and I had two sons, James Sherwood and William Joseph. Then he died on 5 August 1896 leaving me with two small children. I moved back in with my parents. My dad died in 1902 and my mom in 1906.
Marion Lawrence Camp, my second husband was my knight in shining armor. We married
in Tarrant County, Texas in 1903. Our marriage is recorded there as well as in
the deed records of Dallas County,
Texas. He helped me raise my sons James and William by
Sherwood and with all my family crisis of parents deaths 1902 and 1906. He even let my sister
Mary live with us after she was widowed. He really understood family and
their needs.
We had two children together, Marian Margaret and Lawrence Bradley. I left this earth much too soon in 1934. I never knew my grand children and am so pleased to know that family is important to them and that their Irish heritage will not be forgotten. |
