I was the second son born to John and Rose Bradley. My birth is recorded in the baptismal records of Carnaross, County Meath, Ireland. I married Rose Smyth there in 1871.We had ten (10) children together. Their births are recorded in the Civil Registers of Ireland as well as church registers in Kells and Kilskyre. I worked at Sylvan Park as a laborer and then a groom as recorded in the Civil Birth Records of my children. All that remains of Sylvan Park today is the stable building. I had a cottage in Boltown and my son Nicholas had one nearby as shown in the valuation records of Kilskyre. Nicholas's house is now in the possession of one of his grand daughters. I died in 1916 an was buried in the Kells Catholic Cemetery, after which my wife immigrated to the United States to live with her daughters there. She died in Dallas, TX in 1947. Her rosary was announced in the Dallas Morning News 19 August 1947. Our sons John who married Anne Owens and Nicholas who married Mary Molloy as well as our daughters Rose and Julia stayed in Ireland. Julia married Matthew Farrelly. They are buried in a cemetery out side the town of Kells in County Meath Ireland. Rose never married and is buried in the Kylskyre Church cemetery with her brothers and their families. John and his family were in the nearby Townland of Robinson. His home was inherited by his daughter Teresa that married Christopher Newman and is now ruins. Several immigrated to the United States to be with their uncles Patrick and James. These were (Bridget) Beatrice who married Paul Godfrey, Mary who married Charles Conerty, Elizabeth who married James Teeling, Ellen who first married Joseph Byrne, then Walter Humphry and lastly John Keehan , and Teresa who married Patrick Horkin. All these later families were known as family to James's children. Patrick never married. |
